PARI NETWORKS INTRODUCES NETWORK CHANGE AND CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
Unique Architecture Enables 50 Percent Faster Time-to-Market for Supporting New Devices, OS Versions and Security Advisories
Managed Security Services Delivery Model Targets Enterprise, MSPs and SMB
Milpitas, CALIF. – January 28, 2008—Pari Networks today introduced their network change and configuration management solution for small medium businesses, enterprises and managed service providers. Over a single platform, IT and security administrators now have an assessment and remediation tool for automated network, security, compliance and configuration management saving time and money. The unique architecture enables more than 50 percent faster time-to-market supporting new devices, operating systems versions and security advisories. Pari Network addresses Life-Cycle Management with an inventory asset management tool including network device capability analysis and management which allows network administrators to easily address and plan for operational and capital expenditures. Additionally, the flexible managed security services delivery model enables brand new revenue opportunities for MSP’s.
“Pari has developed a comprehensive solution that gives network administrators a crystal ball into their operations,” said Kishore Kumar, chief executive officer and founder of Pari Networks. “Network administrators are striving to make their network devices comply with government, industry and internal regulations, while protecting devices from security threats. Now months before a new device or security device support advisory is issued our solutions can tell what device or platform is in need of support.”
Pari Appliances offer policy, compliance and audit assessment mitigation through its applications. The solution offers customized templates for regulatory compliance including SOX, PCI, DHS, HIPAA and ISO/IEC 27002 as well as security guidelines such as ITIL, NSA, CiscoSAFE, COBIT, etc. Users can also create customized reports for corporate mandates, policies and remediation.
“Pari Networks’ Paritra products provide more functionality than we previously had for auditing, verifying our change management process, and managing configurations on our network infrastructure,” said Victor Hsiang, manager of security architecture at TransUnion. “For example, Paritra tracks manufacturers’ device flaws, such as vulnerabilities or bugs discovered over time, and provides information about how to fix them. Pari’s products and services simplify network device configuration and monitoring, and help us more easily enforce security policies.”
In addition Pari Networks’ product suite features complete device life-cycle management to its NCCM feature set. The products include:
- Device capability management
- Inventory of all devices on the network - network devices, line cards/modules, software/OS
- List of physical attributes - serial numbers, contract information
- End of Life/Support/Engineering
- License and contract management
- Vendor security advisories
- IT operational benefits: forecasting and reducing capital expenditures
First Commercial NCCM Product for MSP’s
Designed as the first commercial NCCM product for MSP’s, Pari Networks’ product suite includes the Paritra appliance series, the Wing’s series, the Pari Networks Assessment Tool and the Pari Portal.
Pari Networks’ Paritra provides comprehensive network visibility with NCCM, an assessment and management for inventory, services, capabilities and life cycles. Paritra auto-discovers a network through various protocols, such as SSH, Telnet or HTTP. Then it provides a detailed inventory of the network, including device names, serial numbers and model numbers. Pari tracks all changes to the network configuration, software and hardware in real time and creates an audit trail. With this record, Paritra can screen changes against authorized policies to see if they comply with regulations and IT best practices.
Pari Networks’ Wings, enabled in software, are easily distributed data collection points used to gather information about customer network devices, which is passed to the Paritra appliance located at the user’s facility or the managed service facility. Data collected can include configuration, life cycle, performance, security and compliance information for each network device.
Pari Network Assessment Tool (PNAT) is a light-weight software package used by network consultants and auditors to provide snapshot network assessments. This application is mainly used for one time or quarterly network assessments to provide detailed inventory reports consisting of network device information, software information, security advisory and life-cycle information.
Pari Portal adds easy to use auditing capabilities by allowing MSP’s to implement compliance and security management over the Internet. This approach doesn’t require hardware or software. Users pay only for the amount of audit services used. Aimed at serving the needs of smaller businesses, the Pari Portal provides an area to immediately process submitted device configurations and produce compliance and security audit reports.
"Pari can replace four to five other tools, like Kiwi, Sniffer, Solar wind, CAT and RRAT,” said Huey Ong of ePlus Technology. “This simplifies my work, reduces costs and I gain better visibility and management capabilities than from the other tools.”
